Air Force home-advantages & disadvantages

Wind power for home has steadily increased in popularity and with due reasons. Although still not as popular as solar, wind took slowly. What benefits could expect from home wind energy? And what disadvantages should consider?

Benefits of wind energy
1. Wind is renewable. Is free and does not use non-renewable resources, such as oil or coal. Acquire wind energy does not contribute to the depletion of non-renewable resources.

2. wind power is self-sufficient.  The loss of power lines or the absence of oil or gas does not stop turbines and windmills produce continuously electricity for household use.

3. wind power system can now be plugged into an AC power. This may allow homeowners to "buy" and "sell" electricity depending on the level or the amount of domestic wind power. Additionally, owners who wind power systems connected to a grid does not have to be bothered with properties of wind power generation equipment or maintenance.

Wind energy: the evaluation
1. Wind turbines move and their blades are subject to wear. Maintenance of wind turbines, therefore, can be more expensive to keep solar panels, for example.

2. Wind turbines, thanks to their shape may be corrupted when they are struck by lightning, or during hurricanes, typhoons and temporal.

3. Wind turbines look bulky, awkward and can also cause a lot of noise. These attributes can be an obstacle, especially when prospective owners obtaining permits and licenses in accordance with the laws of zoning.

However, wind energy is still a good power source for the home. If you are interested, with the limitations of wind power for home use, you may consider installing a hybrid (combined with solar energy), which would make your home energy efficient.
